About this item
- Evergreen Giant Liriope Lily Turf is a larger cultivar of the clumping, grass-like, evergreen perennial. Its dark green foliage is accented with spikes of purple-lilac blooms during summer, followed by small, showy black fruits in fall. In addition to its use as a groundcover, this plant looks great when used as edging along walkways or shrub borders.
- Evergreen Giant Lilyturf enjoys more sun than other types of Liriope. In full sun, supplemental irrigation may be required to keep plants looking their best. Fertilize lightly, once or twice a year as needed. Otherwise, a care-free plant.
- Liriope is also called lilyturf. In this case it is Giant Lilyturf. Lilyturf is considered a workhorse plant for warmer shade gardens. It thrives in courtyards and atriums where the soil often remains moist a lot of the time. Its uniform growth size makes it ideal as an edging plant.
- Lush, dark green foliage is excellent for edging and borders in sometimes brightly shaded areas. Small white flowers among the foliage are followed by metallic violet-blue fruit. Evergreen perennial.
- Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. For a neat appearance, remove old foliage before new leaves emerge. Divide clumps every 2 to 3 years in early spring.
